The FIA Extreme H World Cup Officially Partnered with Tamgo
Colin Smith — September 19, 2025The FIA Extreme H World Cup has appointed Tamgo, The Machinery Group LLC, as its Official Clean Energy Infrastructure Provider to deliver a 200 kW hydrogen fuel cell system and full operational support for the inaugural hydrogen racing series in Qiddiya City from October 9–11, 2025, with a Final Lap event on October 4–5. Tamgo will deploy AFC Energy’s liquid-cooled fuel cell technology integrated with a 145 kWh battery energy storage system, providing dependable zero-emission power without noise pollution. The modular unit, weighing 3 000 kg, is engineered to meet the demanding power requirements of large-scale motorsport events and to demonstrate hydrogen’s viability as a primary energy source for both track and site operations.
This partnership underscores FIA Extreme H’s strategy of leveraging sustainable energy at scale and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals for clean technology adoption. Tamgo, a Zahid Group company and regional leader in industrial machinery, has been introducing hydrogen-based zero-emission solutions in Saudi Arabia since 2023. Building on Extreme E’s progression from hydrogen-powered vehicle charging in its first season to powering 80 percent of its event operations by Season 4, Extreme H will expand hydrogen’s role to encompass all aspects of its world cup, from car propulsion to broadcast and hospitality infrastructure, advancing investment and innovation in low-carbon energy systems beyond motorsport.
