Sustainable Aviation Fuel Partnerships
Montana Renewables x World Energy Collab for Sustainability
Debra John — February 20, 2026Montana Renewables, LLC (MRL) and World Energy have established a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) agreement to supply more than 70 million gallons of lower-carbon fuel over three years, supporting efforts to reduce aviation-related greenhouse gas emissions. The agreement is "projected to reduce up to 600,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, contributing to measurable progress in decarbonizing one of the most emissions-intensive transportation sectors."
SAF offers a reduced lifecycle carbon footprint compared to conventional jet fuel, helping airlines lower emissions without requiring major changes to existing aircraft or fueling infrastructure. By "expanding domestic SAF production through MRL’s planned MaxSAF™ 150 capacity increase, the partnership supports broader adoption of renewable fuels derived from sustainable feedstocks."
World Energy, a pioneer in commercial-scale SAF production and carbon inset markets, facilitates the distribution of both fuel and associated environmental attributes. Together, the companies aim to scale access to cleaner aviation fuels and accelerate the transition toward more sustainable air travel.
