Clean Energy Career Programs
Green Water and Power (GWP) is partnering with Goodwill Southern California to launch clean energy career programs that provide hands-on electrical training for people facing barriers to employment. Offered through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act, the program targets qualified candidates with little or no previous work experience, including those who are unemployed or working fewer than 20 hours per week.
Participants gain practical electrical trade experience that can support employment with GWP or open pathways to other skilled positions. The training also connects workforce development with growing clean-energy infrastructure sectors, including EV charging, battery storage and solar energy.
For GWP, the partnership creates a pipeline of trained candidates as demand for specialized electrical labor grows. The model could help clean-energy companies address workforce needs while expanding access to technical careers, demonstrating how employers can combine talent development with infrastructure expansion.
