Clean energy partnerships are supporting South Africa’s transition toward a more diversified and resilient power system. POWERCHINA is contributing expertise across solar, wind, concentrated solar power, battery storage, and hybrid energy projects as the country plans to add approximately 105 GW of generation capacity through 2039. Projects combining renewable generation with energy storage can provide more flexible electricity while supporting the expansion and modernization of national power infrastructure.

South Africa’s long-term energy plans create substantial opportunities for developers, manufacturers, investors, and infrastructure providers. Planned investments in generation, battery storage, and approximately 14,500 kilometers of transmission infrastructure could strengthen demand across renewable energy supply chains. Partnerships with international companies such as POWERCHINA may also accelerate project development while encouraging local procurement, workforce training, and manufacturing. This approach demonstrates how large-scale energy transitions can support both infrastructure growth and broader industrial development.
