Green Job Creation Projects

The GROW Project Aims to Drive Jobs and Eco-Innovation in Africa

The GROW Project focuses on strengthening technical and vocational education and training institutions in Sub Saharan Africa to support greener construction practices. The initiative targets the growing challenge of construction and demolition waste by improving training programs, building institutional capacity, and supporting innovation in waste remediation and recycling. Its objective is to equip trainees with practical skills that align with sustainable construction needs, including material recovery, waste reduction, and environmentally aligned building processes. The project is co funded through the Erasmus Plus programme and is structured to provide long term support for skills development in the region.

The vocational training component emphasizes the development of green jobs by preparing workers for roles in construction waste management and circular economy practices. Activities include curriculum enhancement, knowledge sharing, and partnerships with local and international organizations to ensure that training reflects current sustainability standards. By focusing on both workforce readiness and institutional improvement, the project aims to reduce environmental impacts associated with construction growth while expanding employment opportunities in waste remediation and recycling. The initiative positions technical training as a central mechanism for advancing sustainable construction across Sub Saharan Africa.
