Euro Rail sits at the center of the European Union’s large-scale transportation framework, representing a transformative step toward a low-carbon mobility system. Supported by a €100 billion investment, the initiative focuses on shifting travel demand away from high-emission modes such as aviation and road transport toward energy-efficient rail networks.
By expanding high-speed infrastructure and strengthening cross-border connectivity, Euro Rail enables seamless, lower-impact travel while reducing dependence on short-haul flights. Central to the framework is the electrification of rail systems and the adoption of emerging technologies, including hydrogen and battery-powered trains, to further decrease fossil fuel reliance.
