UNDP and TAILG Launched a Green Mobility Centre in Kenya
Adam Harrie — July 10, 2026The UN Development Programme and electric mobility company TAILG signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the Green Mobility Centre of Excellence in Kenya, launching a partnership focused on technological innovation, ecosystem development and industry incubation. TAILG will lead project operations and governance while helping build an innovation ecosystem to support Africa's green and low-carbon mobility industry.
TAILG operates seven R&D and manufacturing bases worldwide with annual production capacity exceeding 15 million units, and distributes products in more than 70 countries. The partnership will focus on advancing electric two-wheeler technologies, gasoline-to-electric conversion projects and carbon reduction initiatives across the region.
The partnership shows how collaboration between international development organizations and electric mobility companies can help accelerate the adoption of low-carbon transportation through locally focused innovation and industry development.
