In-Pipe Hydropower Financing

InPipe Energy and BluePath Partnered on a Clean Water Power Project

InPipe Energy and BluePath Finance announced a partnership to remove the capital barrier slowing clean energy adoption across water systems, centered on InPipe Energy's HydroXS technology, which converts water flowing through pipelines into hydropower without dams or new construction. The companies identified a potential pipeline representing up to $200 million in investment over five years.

BluePath will own qualifying HydroXS systems and serve as the power provider through power purchase agreements, allowing water agencies and industrial operators to adopt the technology with little to no upfront cost. This turns on-site clean power generation into an operating expense rather than a capital purchase.

As water utilities face rising electricity costs and decarbonization pressure, this partnership shows how removing upfront capital barriers could help distributed clean energy technology scale faster nationwide.
