Integrated Data Center Power Systems

Integrated data center power systems are becoming central to DayOne Data Centers' expansion strategy through a new agreement with Sembcorp Utilities. The companies will explore combining electricity infrastructure, renewable energy supply, and operational services with upcoming developments across Asia. DayOne's Bring Your Own Power initiative incorporates energy planning early in construction projects to address electricity availability and improve delivery certainty.

The partnership will assess potential on-site generation, electrical infrastructure, and renewable power arrangements. DayOne is targeting 100% renewable energy by 2030 where market conditions permit. Its existing Malaysian agreements cover approximately 1.5 GWp of solar capacity and 2.2 GWh of battery storage.

For businesses, this approach could reduce project delays linked to power constraints while supporting growing demand for AI infrastructure. The collaboration also creates opportunities for Sembcorp to provide energy services as DayOne expands its regional data center operations.
