Low-Carbon Modular Data Centers

Northstar Expands Production of Energy-Efficient Data Centers

Northstar Enterprise + Defense is expanding production of recyclable composite data centers that offer a lighter, more energy-efficient alternative to conventional infrastructure. Its modular structures use fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), a durable composite made with recyclable glass, to provide thermal insulation and structural strength without relying on traditional concrete or steel frameworks.

The company's new 153,000-square-foot manufacturing campus in Fort Myers, Florida, will support increased production. Its data center enclosures are up to 30% lighter than aluminum alternatives and can be installed in as little as 90 days, making them suitable for rooftops and locations with limited construction infrastructure.

This expansion positions Northstar to address growing demand from enterprise AI, telecommunications and defense customers. Faster installation and adaptable construction could help organizations expand computing capacity while managing infrastructure costs, energy efficiency and the environmental impact of building materials.
