Modular Water Reuse Systems
IWS and CROM Combine Modular Treatment With Permanent Concrete Systems
mursal rahman — April 24, 2026Modular water reuse systems are being advanced by Integrated Water Services (IWS) in partnership with CROM through the NXT|MBR platform, which combines modular wastewater treatment with permanent concrete infrastructure. This approach enables faster deployment compared to traditional site-built plants while maintaining long-term durability and structural reliability. Using membrane bioreactor technology, the system produces high-quality treated water that can be reused for applications such as irrigation, reducing dependence on potable water sources and supporting more efficient resource use.
This model highlights a shift toward treating wastewater as a reusable asset rather than a disposal challenge. Faster installation timelines can reduce project delays, while scalable capacity allows systems to expand alongside demand. For municipalities, developers and utilities, adopting these systems may improve efficiency, lower long-term costs and create new opportunities to generate value from reclaimed water.
