Cumulative Energy Efficiency Milestones
CLEAResult Has Hit One Trillion Kilowatt of Hours Saved
Adam Harrie — August 12, 2026CLEAResult has achieved a total of one trillion kilowatt-hours in customer energy savings since its founding in 2003. This milestone is equivalent to powering every U.S. home for about eight months or every Canadian home for more than five and a half years. It also reflects billions of dollars in energy bill savings for customers and approximately 302 million metric tons of CO₂ emissions avoided.
The company first outlined its approach to the milestone in its 2025 Sustainability Report, which detailed 996 billion kilowatt-hours of cumulative savings before continued program activity across the U.S. and Canada pushed the total past one trillion.
CLEAResult's extensive history demonstrates that energy efficiency programs are among the quickest and most cost-effective solutions for utilities and governments to manage increasing demand without the need to expand generation capacity.
