Science-Based Climate Commitments
DuPont received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative for its near-term and long-term greenhouse gas reduction targets, reinforcing its commitment to net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2050. By 2035, it aims to cut absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions 83% from a 2019 base year and Scope 3 emissions 63% from a 2020 base year.
DuPont has already reduced its combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 76% since 2019 and its Scope 3 emissions by 59% from the 2020 baseline. The new targets also commit to 90% reductions in both categories by 2050 and build on its earlier SBTi-validated 2030 target, which it met ahead of schedule.
As companies face pressure to show credible progress, DuPont signals how third-party validation can back climate pledges while helping customers lower emissions in their own value chains.
