Green Shipping Corridor Agreements

Singapore and Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a Green Shipping Corridor, linking Brazil's renewable energy production capabilities with Singapore's status as the world's largest bunkering port. The partnership aims to develop alternative marine fuel supply chains, digital information exchange and emerging maritime technologies to accelerate shipping decarbonization.

Brazil's substantial renewable energy resources position it to produce zero- and near-zero-emission marine fuels, while Singapore offers the established shipping infrastructure and technology ecosystems needed to distribute those fuels globally. The corridor also includes plans for digital systems supporting better vessel routing, port scheduling and emissions traceability.

This government-backed corridor signals how connecting renewable fuel producers directly with major maritime hubs could reduce emissions across global shipping routes.
