DHL expanded its sustainable aviation fuel partnership (SAF) with IAG Cargo under a new multi-year agreement, strengthening access to lower-emissions air freight solutions. The five-year contract secures SAF supply through 2030 and supports the company’s broader decarbonization strategy throughout its logistics network.

The agreement allows for the use of about 240 million liters of SAF and is projected to cut lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 640,000 tonnes of CO₂e. When combined with an additional framework agreement, total emissions reductions across DHL’s operations could exceed 1 million metric tons, reflecting the initiative’s scale.

DHL demonstrates in this partnership how long-term SAF procurement agreements can provide supply stability while supporting emissions-reduction targets in a constrained sustainable-fuel market.
