SK Chemicals Signed a Supply Deal with Durmont Australia

SK chemicals has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Austria’s Durmont to supply its chemically recycled PET product, SKYPET CR, for use in automotive carpets and mats. The signing took place at SK chemicals’ ECOLAB headquarters and includes logistics and facilitation support from Paarang to streamline supply and application development. Durmont will integrate SKYPET CR into its carpet roll goods production, which serves original equipment manufacturers and accounts for components fitted to approximately seven million vehicles annually.
The partnership is presented as a commercial route to scale certified circular materials in automotive interiors and to meet OEM sustainability requirements. Public statements indicate the agreement will focus on qualification, supply chain coordination, and application testing to ensure compatibility with existing manufacturing processes and performance standards. Discussions are reported to be underway with major European brands, while specific commercial volumes, pricing, and implementation timelines were not disclosed in the announcement.
