Smart Home Charging Bundles

Smart home charging bundles are simplifying EV ownership through a new offering from PG&E and GM Energy that combines charging hardware with utility incentives. Available through participating Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac dealerships in Northern and Central California, the Smart Charge Bundle includes a GM Energy home charger at no additional hardware cost and a $15 monthly PG&E bill credit. WeaveGrid software automatically shifts charging toward periods with lower electricity costs and demand, with customers potentially saving an additional $50 per month.

The model connects vehicle purchases, home charging, and grid management within a single enrollment process. For GM, integrating charging support at dealerships can reduce barriers associated with EV adoption, while PG&E gains a way to manage growing electricity demand more efficiently. Customers can also select a PowerShift charger that supports bidirectional home backup when paired with compatible GM vehicles and equipment.
