Compact Fusion Startups
Stellios Technologies has an oversubscribed $ 5 million pre-seed round, backed by Sofreh Capital, Wave Function Ventures, and Cubit Capital, to build high-power systems and advance compact fusion research. The Austin-based company had previously secured $2 million in signed purchase orders before raising outside capital.
The compact aneutronic fusion program reuses core technologies from its microwave hardware, including power electronics, magnets, vacuum systems, and cooling, with AI-native engineering and a digital-twin platform guiding early research. The company aims to develop fusion systems compact enough to power remote sites with minimal refueling and, eventually, advanced propulsion.
As fusion developers seek nearer-term revenue, Stellios signals that shared hardware can fund early research while compact fusion matures, giving investors a way to back long-horizon energy technology alongside commercial demand.
