Envision Energy Installs a Wind Turbine in the Philippines
Debra John — March 10, 2026A wind turbine in the Philippines has been installed by Envision Energy as part of the 'Alabat Wind Power Project' on Alabat Island, marking progress in the country’s renewable energy development. The installation features an 8-megawatt wind turbine with a 182-meter rotor diameter, 105-meter hub height, and 90-meter blades, designed to operate in coastal environments and withstand typhoon conditions.
The project has "a planned capacity of 64 MW and is being developed by Alternergy Holdings Corporation under the Philippine government’s Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) Round 2, which supports the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure."
Once completed, the wind project is expected to increase the country’s clean electricity generation while reducing reliance on fossil fuel–based energy sources. By harnessing wind as a renewable resource, the installation contributes to lower greenhouse gas emissions, supports energy diversification, and advances the Philippines’ broader efforts toward sustainable and climate-resilient power systems.
