Blackstone Acquired Dresser to Modernize Its Utility Infrastructure
Adam Harrie — July 7, 2026Blackstone Energy Transition Partners agreed to acquire Dresser Utility Solutions, a Houston-based provider of utility infrastructure modernization technology founded in 1880, from First Reserve. Dresser's portfolio includes gas metering technology, digital instrumentation, pressure and flow control systems, and infrastructure repair products serving gas and water utilities as well as industrial customers worldwide.
The acquisition marks the first investment from Blackstone's latest energy transition fund, with the firm highlighting growing grid demand and the need for utilities to modernize aging infrastructure more efficiently and reliably.
