DuPont Expands Canberra’s Wastewater Treatment Capacity

Advanced wastewater membranes are expanding Canberra’s water treatment capacity through DuPont’s MemCor membrane bioreactor system. Designed to process approximately 97 million liters per day, the technology combines membrane filtration with biological treatment to produce high-quality effluent for safe discharge. The system provides scalable wastewater infrastructure that can accommodate population growth while improving the long-term resilience and reliability of municipal water treatment operations.
Growing populations are increasing pressure on municipalities to expand water infrastructure without compromising treatment quality or operational efficiency. Large-scale membrane systems give utilities a scalable approach to increasing capacity while preparing facilities for future demand. DuPont’s involvement in Australia’s largest inland wastewater treatment facility also demonstrates the commercial potential for advanced filtration providers as cities invest in resilient water systems.
