Digital Carbon Verification Hubs
TÜV SÜD launched its first Global Decarbonisation Centre of Excellence in Singapore, representing more than USD 24 million in investment and supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board. The center builds on TÜV SÜD's recent acquisition of SustainCERT, expanding its digital measurement, reporting, and verification (dMRV) capabilities to strengthen carbon market infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
By 2030, TÜV SÜD aims to connect project developers, verification bodies, and carbon registries across ASEAN on a single digital platform and to develop new methodologies for nature-based and blue economy projects.
As countries work to operationalize international carbon trading under Article 6, TÜV SÜD's center signals that independent verification infrastructure is becoming central to ensuring that emissions-reduction claims remain credible and interoperable across borders as carbon markets scale.
