KKR Has Acquired EDF Power Solutions $4.2B Renewables Platform

KKR has agreed to acquire EDF Power Solutions' North American operations as part of a renewable energy portfolio transaction valued at approximately $4.2 billion, with potential additional payments of up to $390 million. The acquired platform ranks among the top 10 owners of renewable energy capacity in the U.S., operating a diversified portfolio of solar, wind and battery storage assets developed over nearly 40 years across multiple regions.
The deal includes EDF Power Solutions' fully integrated platform, spanning project development, construction, long-term operations and asset management for utility, corporate and institutional customers.
The acquisition shows how private capital is increasingly backing integrated renewable energy platforms to support rising electricity demand while strengthening long-term energy security and affordability.
