GMT has secured 195 million pounds in new financing to accelerate the development of biomethane projects across the United Kingdom. According to the announcement, the funding package was arranged through a consortium of lenders and is intended to support the construction and operation of multiple anaerobic digestion facilities. These projects will process organic waste to produce biomethane for injection into the national gas grid, contributing to decarbonization targets within the heating and transport sectors. The company stated that the capital raise reflects growing institutional interest in renewable gas infrastructure as the UK advances policies that encourage low carbon alternatives to fossil fuels.

The financing will enable GMT to scale its project pipeline and expand its operational footprint in regions with strong feedstock availability. The company noted that its facilities are designed to integrate with local supply chains by sourcing agricultural and food waste from nearby producers. The expanded portfolio is expected to increase biomethane output and support long term energy security objectives. GMT indicated that the investment will also facilitate the deployment of associated technologies such as carbon capture and nutrient recovery systems, positioning the company to contribute to broader circular economy initiatives.
