High-Capacity Fiber Networks
ROHL Gateway Fiber is expanding high-capacity fiber networks across Western Canada, introducing additional connectivity routes designed to support AI data centers and industrial operations. The expansion provides physically separate network pathways that help businesses maintain connectivity when disruptions affect individual routes, reducing the risk of costly service interruptions.
The upgraded infrastructure includes dark fiber, which allows customers to operate their own transmission equipment, alongside wavelength services capable of carrying multiple 400 Gbps connections. Built on Ciena's optical platform, the network targets 99.999% uptime while extending access throughout Alberta and British Columbia. ROHL's in-house construction capabilities also allow new fiber routes to be developed within a calendar year.
For data center operators and telecommunications providers, the expanded network could improve site selection and operational reliability. ROHL also strengthens its competitive position by combining network ownership with construction services, supporting growing infrastructure investment across Western Canada.
