Jet2holidays announced that 1,500 hotels in its portfolio have now been designated as 'Certified Sustainable Hotels,' marking a significant step in the company’s ongoing sustainability strategy. The designation is awarded to properties that meet recognized environmental and social responsibility standards approved under ABTA’s hotel certification schemes.
These certifications assess a range of sustainable operational practices, including efforts to reduce energy and water consumption, minimize waste, responsibly source products, and support local communities. By expanding the number of certified properties, Jet2holidays aims to promote more environmentally responsible accommodation options across its destinations.
The initiative also helps travelers and travel agents easily identify hotels that meet verified sustainability criteria during the booking process. As part of the program’s continued development, Jet2holidays has introduced a sustainable hotel toolkit to guide partner hotels through the certification process and encourage broader adoption of environmentally responsible hospitality practices.
