SK Inc. and KKR signed definitive agreements to launch Korea's largest renewable energy consolidation platform, valued at approximately $1.3 billion. The platform will combine solar, onshore and offshore wind, and fuel cell assets previously held across SK affiliates into a single integrated business. KKR will hold management control during the platform's initial phase, while SK will participate as an equity investor.

The platform currently operates approximately 1.7GW of renewable energy capacity, with a development pipeline expected to reach 10GW, enough to power around 100 large-scale, 100MW-class data centers simultaneously. The consolidation brings together the full renewable energy value chain, from project development through operations and maintenance, positioning the business to meet rising clean electricity demand from AI data centers and semiconductor manufacturing.

The platform shows how consolidating renewable energy assets into integrated operating businesses can improve scale and help meet growing demand for reliable clean power.
