PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PLK) Partnered with Veolia Energy
Colin Smith — November 26, 2025PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PLK) signed a multi‑year power purchase agreement with Veolia Energy Contracting Poland to procure 726,000 MWh of renewable electricity for delivery in 2026–2027. The contract secures a verified supply of renewable energy attributes to cover a substantial portion of PLK’s operational electricity needs and supports the operator’s decarbonization and sustainability reporting objectives.
The PPA is intended to stabilize energy costs and improve supply predictability for PLK while enabling the railway operator to reduce the carbon intensity of its electricity consumption. For Veolia, the agreement represents a large‑scale supply commitment that leverages its contracting capabilities in Poland and illustrates the role of institutional PPAs in mobilizing renewable generation and facilitating investment in low‑carbon energy. Both brands are committed to accelerating Poland's development toward a greener future.
