Ameresco Has Brought Rooftop Solar to Community College of Philadelphia
Adam Harrie — July 9, 2026Ameresco announced a campus rooftop solar project at the Community College of Philadelphia, installing two solar arrays across the college's main Spring Garden Street campus and its Northeast Regional Campus. Backed by Pennsylvania's Solar for Schools grant program, the energy performance contract is scheduled to begin construction in summer 2026 and conclude by the end of the year.
The project reduces long-term reliance on grid power and strengthens energy resilience across both campuses, positioning CCP within Pennsylvania's broader push to expand renewable energy at educational institutions statewide. Beyond infrastructure, the installation creates opportunities for students to engage directly with the renewable energy systems on their campus.
The project signals that educational institutions are becoming visible proof points for statewide renewable energy commitments, turning campus infrastructure into a practical teaching tool.
