Sustainable Aviation Fuel Investments
Turkish Airlines Has Joined the $208M SAFFA Fund
Adam Harrie — July 21, 2026Turkish Airlines has signed an agreement to participate in the SAFFA Fund, a sustainable aviation fuel investment vehicle, joining a group of aviation and financial institutions co-investing approximately $208 million to accelerate SAF production capacity across diverse technologies and geographies. Established in December 2023 and managed by Burnham Sterling Asset Management, the fund has Airbus as its anchor investor and includes Air France-KLM, Qantas and BNP Paribas among its participants.
The investment positions Turkish Airlines closer to the feedstock development and technology projects shaping the sector's future, supporting the airline's supply security and sustainable growth targets.
Turkish Airlines shows how direct investment in SAF infrastructure is becoming a strategic priority for carriers seeking reliable access to sustainable fuel beyond simply purchasing the finished product.
