Altus Power acquired five community solar projects in Virginia from New Leaf Energy, expanding a 32 MW portfolio expected to deliver clean power savings to approximately 5,000 homes through Appalachian Power Company's shared solar program. The ground-mounted projects mark Altus Power's first expansion into Virginia's community solar market and its inaugural collaboration with New Leaf Energy.

Eligible households and businesses will receive direct savings through solar bill credits without needing to install or maintain their own panels; the model is designed to protect ratepayers as electricity costs continue to rise statewide. Atlus Power currently serves more than 40,00 community solar subscribers across the country, positioning the company as one of the sector's early scalers.

The acquisition is a signal of how community solar is progressing as a practical tool for extending renewable energy savings to renters and homeowners alike.
