BIRD Energy Announced $1.5M for US-Israel Clean Energy Projects
Colin Smith — March 12, 2026BIRD Energy has opened a new funding call offering up to 1.5 million dollars for joint clean energy projects between the United States and Israel. According to the program announcement, the initiative supports collaborative research and development in areas such as grid optimization, artificial intelligence enabled energy systems, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, and critical minerals. The funding is provided through a partnership between the United States Department of Energy, the Israel Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and the Israel Innovation Authority. Selected projects may receive conditional grants covering up to half of their total research and development budget.
The program is intended to advance technologies that improve energy efficiency, reliability, and system resilience across both countries. BIRD Energy emphasized that the call for proposals aims to strengthen bilateral innovation while supporting commercial scale solutions that contribute to long term clean energy transitions. The initiative continues a series of joint funding efforts designed to accelerate deployment of advanced energy technologies through cross border collaboration.
