Bahrain Partnered with Yellow Door Energy on Solar Farm
Colin Smith — December 3, 2025The Avenues Bahrain and Yellow Door Energy announced the completion of a sustainable solar energy project at The Avenues Bahrain, delivered through a commercial partnership to install on‑site photovoltaic capacity for the retail complex. The project supplies a portion of the mall’s electricity demand with solar generation and is presented as part of The Avenues’ broader sustainability agenda to reduce operational emissions and energy costs. Yellow Door Energy acted as the developer and operator, managing project delivery and ongoing asset performance while the mall benefits from locally produced renewable electricity and associated environmental reporting improvements.
The partnership is framed as an example of private sector collaboration to accelerate renewable deployment in the region and to demonstrate the viability of distributed solar for large commercial facilities. Project stakeholders emphasize expected outcomes such as lower grid dependency, reduced carbon intensity of operations, and enhanced corporate sustainability credentials. The arrangement also illustrates a financing and delivery model in which a specialist developer assumes technical and operational responsibilities, enabling the site owner to realize renewable energy benefits without direct capital investment in generation assets.
