EV Charging Credit Facilities
Energea expanded its U.S. portfolio beyond solar to include EV charging, committing up to $20 million through Energea Portfolio 4 USA LP to finance new charging stations. The first transaction is a $10 million credit facility to ChargedEV, a developer and owner of Tesla V4 Supercharger stations, with its initial draw secured by two operating stations in Georgia.
The capital will fund ChargedEV's expansion across the Southeast, and Energea is negotiating a similar structure with a second developer. Terms include monthly payments, a fixed interest rate, seven-year amortization of each draw, a first-priority security interest in the stations and an option to acquire a minority equity stake.
As charging networks scale, Energea signals how asset-backed lending can turn EV chargers into a new infrastructure asset class with recurring, energy-based revenue.
