Hyundai's XCIENT Fuell Cell Boasts 20 Million KM of Transport

Hyundai Motor’s XCIENT Fuel Cell heavy‑duty truck fleet reached a cumulative 20 million kilometres of driving across Europe as of January 2026, a milestone achieved with 165 units operating in five countries. The fleet began commercial operations in Switzerland in October 2020 and expanded to Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Austria, with vehicle configurations deployed for refrigerated transport, waste collection, hook‑lift operations, and crane services.
The company reports that the European milestone was recorded over approximately five years and that North American operations have also accumulated mileage since its promising introduction in 2023. Hyundai frames the result as evidence of operational viability for hydrogen fuel cell trucks in commercial logistics and cites the fleet’s role in demonstrating range, uptime, and application flexibility across multiple duty cycles.
