Low-Carbon Ammonia Credits
Envision Energy Supplies Low-Carbon Ammonia EACs to PepsiCo APAC
Mursal Rahman — July 31, 2026Low-carbon ammonia credits are creating new pathways for reducing emissions across agricultural supply chains before dedicated physical distribution networks are widely available. Envision Energy has partnered with PepsiCo APAC to supply environmental attribute certificates linked to low-carbon ammonia produced at its Chifeng Net Zero Industrial Park, using a Book & Claim model that separates environmental attributes from the physical product. This approach allows verified emissions reductions to be allocated across the supply chain without transporting low-carbon ammonia over long distances. By leveraging a traceable registry system, the model strengthens transparency while helping organizations address fertilizer-related Scope 3 emissions more efficiently.
For fertilizer producers, food manufacturers, and consumer brands, transferable environmental attributes can accelerate the adoption of lower-carbon agricultural inputs, reduce logistics costs, and encourage investment in green hydrogen and ammonia production as demand for sustainable supply chains continues to grow.
