Muscle Shoals Reservation Trails will Host a BioBlitz Event
Debra John — June 3, 2026The Muscle Shoals Reservation Trails will host a community BioBlitz on June 12–13, offering participants an opportunity to contribute to biodiversity monitoring and environmental education. Organized by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Discover Life in America, the event encourages public engagement with local ecosystems through hands-on ecological observation.
Supported by the Tennessee River Valley Stewardship Council (TRVSC), a seven-state partnership dedicated to conservation awareness, the initiative promotes environmental stewardship and community involvement. A BioBlitz is a collaborative effort to document as many plant and animal species as possible within a designated area. Participants record observations of local flora and fauna using photography and citizen-science tools, helping to build valuable biodiversity data.
By combining outdoor exploration with scientific discovery, the event highlights the importance of ecosystem conservation while fostering a deeper understanding of regional wildlife and habitats.
