TAR Raised $120M led by Spark Capital to Power AI Data Centers

TAR raised $120 million in a Series A led by Spark Capital at a $1 billion post-money valuation to scale its self-contained renewable energy and battery systems for AI data centers. Rather than drawing from the grid or competing with local communities for capacity, TAR builds modular power generation in West Texas, avoiding the years-long interconnection queues stalling many data center projects.

TAR is executing a utility-scale deployment with a major neocloud partner while completing its West Texas manufacturing and logistics center.

As AI compute scaling increasingly runs up against grid capacity constraints, TAR's off-grid renewable approach signals that dedicated, self-contained power systems could offer a faster path to bringing new data center capacity online without waiting on strained regional electricity infrastructure.
