American investment company Blackstone Tactical Opportunities made a structured equity investment in Sunotec, one of Europe's leading developers of large-scale solar and battery storage projects, to support expansion across Germany, the UK, Scandinavia and Southeast Europe. Sunotec has installed approximately 15 GW of solar capacity to date, including 5 GWh of battery storage over the past two years.

The funding will support growth in Sunotec's existing markets while expanding grid infrastructure capabilities alongside its renewable energy asset platform. The company's founders will retain majority ownership and operational control.

As the region accelerates its transition to lower-carbon energy systems, investments of this kind reflect the role of private capital in enabling the development of large-scale renewable and storage capacity.
