Distributed Energy Financing

Odyssey Energy Solutions is expanding distributed energy financing through a platform that connects renewable energy developers with capital, equipment suppliers and procurement support across emerging markets. Its network includes more than 6,000 solar installers and engineering companies across over 50 countries, facilitating access to $3.6 billion in capital. The company’s procurement platform aggregates equipment orders from smaller developers, providing volume pricing and embedded supply chain credit that can ease working-capital constraints.

With $74 million in new equity and debt financing, Odyssey plans to expand this model as demand for distributed solar and storage grows. From a business perspective, combining procurement and financing can help smaller installers undertake more projects simultaneously while giving equipment suppliers access to aggregated demand. The platform has already unlocked 1.5 GW of projects, demonstrating how financial infrastructure can accelerate renewable energy deployment without requiring developers to independently secure capital and supplier terms.
