Generation Investment Raised $1B for Its Sustainability Fund II

Generation Investment Management closed its Sustainable Private Equity Fund II, raising more than $1 billion, along with related co-investment vehicles, to support mission-critical businesses driving sustainability transformation across their industries. The fund targets flexible-term minority and majority stakes in high-growth companies positioned to accelerate sustainability progress at scale.
Generation has already made three investments through the fund, including Octopus Energy, a global energy supplier operating in more than 25 countries, and Kraken Technologies, a platform spun out of Octopus Energy that optimizes energy usage for more than 70 million accounts worldwide.
As institutional investors increasingly seek measurable sustainability impact alongside financial returns, Generation's fund signals growing confidence in businesses that provide the operational backbone for industry-wide sustainability transformation.
