Sustainable Forestry Investment Platforms

J.P. Morgan Committed $200 Million to Paraguay Forestry

J.P. Morgan Natural Capital and the Office of the President of Paraguay announced a $200 million investment, in partnership with local agricultural and forestry group Grupo Robinson, to develop a large-scale sustainable forestry platform in the country. The initiative aims to establish commercial forests, advance native forest restoration and generate long-term value through timber production, carbon credits and wood products.

The partners aim to advance Paraguay's industrialization by processing timber locally and producing finished goods for domestic and export markets, with capital deployment expected to begin in early 2027. Grupo Robinson will contribute regional expertise and production knowledge, while the investment is designed to create rural employment and strengthen local communities.

The platform signals that combining international capital with local forestry expertise could offer a replicable model for sustainable land use and rural economic development across South America.
