Air Liquide has integrated its first hydrogen powered heavy‑duty trucks into logistics operations in the Netherlands, deploying two MAN hTGX vehicles equipped with hydrogen internal combustion engines and marking a significant milestone for the company. The trucks will be operated by local logistics partner Schenk Tanktransport and will be integrated into Air Liquide’s existing distribution network to replace conventional diesel vehicles for deliveries in the greater Rotterdam area.

The deployment is presented as part of Air Liquide’s broader strategy to decarbonize transport and accelerate hydrogen mobility, with the project supported by national and regional initiatives that offset vehicle and infrastructure costs. Operational objectives include demonstrating the viability of hydrogen trucks for customer deliveries, reducing transport emissions in urban and industrial corridors, and informing future scaling of hydrogen refuelling and vehicle fleets.
