Enhanced Geothermal Power Agreements

Fervo Energy signed the Fervo Google Geothermal PPA, a 396 MW power purchase agreement to support continued development of its Cape Station enhanced geothermal systems in Utah, expected to be online in 2028. Google will purchase the carbon-free energy as a resource for a potential future data center in the state, with an option to expand offtake by roughly 600 MW, bringing the total to nearly 1 GW by June 2030.

The deal builds on Fervo and Google's earlier partnership, which began with the Project Red pilot in Nevada and a 115 MW PPA that helped pioneer Nevada's Clean Transition Tariff. Fervo said the agreement reflects a repeatable commercial model designed to deliver around-the-clock clean power at scale without added cost to existing ratepayers.

This deal signals how enhanced geothermal technology is emerging as a viable, scalable complement to solar and wind.
