EDF Power Solutions & SCPPA Has Signed a Deal for LADWP in Utah

EDF Power Solutions and the Southern California Public Power Authority signed a 30-year power purchase agreement for Utah Solar 1, a 400MW DC solar project in Millard County that will supply electricity to LADWP beginning in mid-2027. The municipal utility solar power purchase agreement covers approximately 766,000MWh of annual clean energy, enough to power about 126,800 average California homes, while generating more than $40 million in local tax revenue and $27 million in lease revenue for the Utah Trust Lands Administration over the life of the agreement.
Peak construction is expected to support approximately 400 jobs.
LADWP and EDF show how long-term solar procurement from neighboring states can strengthen clean energy supply while creating lasting economic benefits for host communities.
