RWE and Google signed a 15-year power purchase agreement covering the full output of RWE's Crooked Creek Solar project, a 155 MW facility in McCurtain County and RWE's first solar project in Oklahoma. Construction is set to begin later this year, with commercial operation expected by 2028, delivering electricity to power Google's operations across the Southwest Power Pool market.

During construction, the project is expected to generate approximately $24.3 million in local economic activity and $1.4 million in state and local tax revenue, while employing up to 250 workers at peak. Once operational, Crooked Creek will continue to generate an estimated $25 million for county programs, emergency medical services and local school districts over its lifetime.

This agreement signals how major tech companies are increasingly anchoring new solar development in regions building out their clean energy infrastructure from a smaller existing base.
