Grid Modernization Agreements
Jacobs Has Chosen to Support German Renewable Grid Expansion
Adam Harrie — July 16, 2026Jacobs was selected as a service provider under a multidisciplinary framework agreement with TransnetBW to support German renewable grid expansion programs critical to modernizing the country's transmission infrastructure. The scope spans project controls, engineering, permitting, environmental protection and construction oversight across the full project lifecycle, from early planning through procurement and construction.
The agreement builds on Jacobs' previous work in Germany, including SuedLink, one of the world's largest underground high-voltage power cable projects, and reflects the growing scale of investment required to integrate renewable energy as industry, transportation and heating continue to electrify.
Jacobs shows how experienced infrastructure firms are becoming essential to translating renewable energy ambitions into the physical transmission capacity needed to deliver clean power reliably at scale.
