Corporate Decarbonization Deals

Fortera Signs a Multi-Year Meta Deal for 200,000 Tons of Cement

Fortera has signed its multi-year deal with Meta to supply environmental attribute certificates associated with approximately 200,000 tons of Fortera low-carbon cement. The agreement provides long-term revenue visibility that helps Fortera secure financing for new production facilities.

It supports the Fortera Cement Plant in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, where ReAct Cement is made using captured CO₂ and with 70% fewer emissions than ordinary Portland Cement. The product is third-party tested and conforms to ASTM standards. Imports account for 21% of U.S. cement consumption, and the plant sits along the Mississippi River. Meta also has the option to use the cement in its own projects.

As buyers continue to plan around new low-carbon materials, the deal signals how multi-year purchasing can move cement projects from plans to production and help reduce reliance on imports.
