Senken has signed a multi-year biomass storage carbon removal offtake agreement with Berlin-based Carbonsate, securing 50,000 tonnes of permanent carbon removal from a Puro.earth-verified project in Namibia from 2026 to 2028. The deal is the largest biomass storage agreement in Europe to date, representing roughly 4% of the permanent removal market's cumulative deliveries of approximately 1.5 million tonnes.

Carbonsate will use the long-term commitment to support the expansion of its Namibia storage sites, while Senken vets every credit against more than 600 data points as part of its sustainability integrity standard.

This deal signals that multi-year offtake agreements are becoming essential for providing project developers with the financial certainty needed to scale credible carbon removal capacity ahead of surging corporate net-zero demand.
