Carbon Removal Project Financing

Terradot Closes a $34 Million HASI Loan for Rock Weathering

Terradot and HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital have closed a $34 million senior secured term loan to support Terradot's enhanced rock weathering projects in the US and Brazil. The projects are backed by fixed-price, multi-year offtake agreements with Frontier, a coalition that includes Google, Salesforce, JPMorgan, Shopify and Stripe.

Enhanced rock weathering spreads crushed rock on farmland, removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it for thousands of years while improving soil health. Terradot plans to deploy 1 million tonnes of rock across 60,000 hectares in the US and Brazil in 2026 and 2027, with carbon delivery insurance from CFC.

As lenders continue to seek predictable demand from consumers, loans like this show how contracted offtake can unlock project capital for carbon removal and build the operating record needed for larger deployments.
